Core Academics Begin This Week

Dear Huffman Families,

We are beginning our core academic program this week online. The live Zoom sessions will focus on language arts and math. Remember, if you are unable to attend the live Zoom class, please access the tasks, assignments, and corresponding instructional videos in your student's Canvas course at a time that works for your family's schedule. We hope this option provides the flexibility you may need. You will also find tasks and assignments for science, social studies, and other content areas posted in Canvas as well. Hopefully, you were able to pick up your student's print materials last week. We understand this is a challenging learning model, especially for families of our youngest students. If we can simplify or improve in any way, please don't hesitate to reach out and share your feedback. Please talk proactively with your classroom teacher. They are working hard everyday to simplify and hone their learning platforms. We appreciate your energy and commitment.

Please continue to share your feedback. Whether it is celebrations or concerns, we want to hear from you. We will do everything we can to support your student's learning.

Thank you, Chris

Chris Opitz, principal

ASD Internet Hotspots Expiring on September 18 - Internet Options

If your family received an ASD internet hotspot, it is expiring on September 18th. Support for families in need may be available. Your family may qualify for a basic GCI internet education plan. This is a needs based program that requires an application to be completed through the school. The internet modem is specifically programmed to allow access to a limited number of school based applications and websites. There is a financial disclosure component to the application process. Please call the office at 742-5650 and ask for Mr. Opitz if you have questions or a need. This is a confidential process. ASD is committed to ensuring all students have equitable access to technology during this online environment.
