Principal's Message
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
Yesterday Dr. Don Haddad, our superintendent of schools came for a visit. He took a tour of the school with me and, after dismissal he attended our staff meeting to chat with our staff. He took some time to recognize the great things happening at Eagle Crest (rising assessment scores, increased family engagement and participation, students participating in more extended learning opportunities than in previous years!) as well as share about some successes and celebrations from across the district. Our staff were able to ask him questions and share their own successes.
I always appreciate the opportunity to share our amazing school and to show appreciation to our staff for all of their accomplishments. It’s rewarding to see our hard work recognized at the district level.
I hope you have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Amanda

Dean of Students Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
As you may know, our robotics team and I have been in Dallas, TX for the VEX IQ World Championships this week. It has been an amazing experience! They have had a chance to meet and collaborate with other students from Morocco, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan, and many other teams from across the United States. They have learned a lot, put their skills to the test, and persevered through challenges. Besides all of the fun, VEX also releases the new game at the World Championships. You can check out the game video here. Next year’s 4th and 5th graders can start planning their robots and strategies now!
See you next week!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students

News from the Library
Library Book Round UP
As the school year winds down, it is time to get all the library books back to the library. If your student has library books still checked out, library notices will be sent home via email and in Thursday folders next week. If you receive a notice, please help your student find the books and bring them back to school. Students have found books under beds, in cars, behind sofas and sometimes even mixed in with their own books!
All library books need to be returned to the library by Monday, May 23rd. After that date, books will be considered lost and lost book fees will be assigned to your student's account in Infinite Campus and can be paid online through RevTrak.
If your student(s) is working on a project for school and needs the book a bit longer, they may keep their books until the project is turned in.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at beckett_joan@svvsd.org or at (303) 485-6073 ext. 22313
Thank you for helping get books back to the library for other students to read and enjoy!

End of Year Picnic
This year we are bringing back the tradition of the End of Year Family Picnic. On Thursday, May 26th, families are welcome to attend this all school community event. We will gather on the back field from 11:00am-12:00pm for a fun lunch to celebrate the end of the school year. Bring your chairs, a picnic blanket and a picnic lunch for your family. At the end of your picnic, you are welcome to sign your child out for the day and take them home.
Expect more information coming from your teacher this week and next!
