Collective Commitment Corner
Hello, Pirate Team!
Thank you once again for our collective commitment to one another with this past week’s planning periods. With Tier I instructional strategies as a primary piece of our CSIP, we are in complete alignment with our goals moving forward.
In addition to being strategically aligned, our work together is also evidencing fruitful professional growth. The Lesson Study take-away from one of our colleagues this past week was, for example, “Taking the time to plan with non-math teachers was more beneficial than I ever realized!” What a win for our work!
In moving forward as a unified team for our students’ success, know that our efforts are even more than strategically-aligned and producing greater teacher efficacy, Our efforts embrace the research-informed writing of our department chairs’ book study, 10 Mindframes for Visible Learning: Teaching for Success by Hattie and Zierer. Mindframe number three of the text states, “I collaborate with my peers and with my students.” We know that how instructors collectively think about and reflect upon their impact on student learning is most relevant to the academic gains our students experience. Thank you for all that you do to grow our students and to grow one another.
