VOLUNTEER for the COUGAR CHASE!
Volunteers must complete a background check prior to the day of the event and we would need a commitment of half day (AM - 9:15 to 12:15, PM 1:15 to 3:30) or full day slots. Any interested volunteers can contact Dave Blask at email@example.com.
Unfortunately we cannot have any family or friends come watch and cheer on the runners this year. At this time we can only safely have the event volunteers along with the students and staff. We look forward to the future when families can once again attend and cheer on the hard working students!
LOCAL BUSINESS SPONSORS for the COUGAR CHASE!
We are looking for local business sponsors that are connected to the Country Dale Family to help support this event. All sponsors get their name and logo on the back of the Cougar Chase shirts which go out to over 550 students and staff who will proudly wear them as walking billboards around town. If you have a business and are interested in being a sponsor please contact Julie Noller at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information below:
1) An image of your business logo (to go on the shirts)
2) A little blurb advertising your business for the flyer all Country Dale families will receive. Please include your business name, website, contact info and a few lines describing your business.
3) T-shirt size you'd like. We'd love for you to see your business name on the tshirt you helped purchase! What size would you like (anything from Child XS to Adult XXL)?
4) The amount you wish to donate. Donations can be accepted either by check or via PayPal. Minimum sponsor donations are $100, though to be fair sponsors that donate more get their logo larger and more prominent on the shirt.
If potential sponsors have any questions at all please contact Julie Noller email@example.com! Please reach out for this sponsorship opportunity no later than Thursday September 30th. Thank you for your support!
YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR PARENTS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS
As part of a School-Based Mental Health Grant we received as a district, we are excited to offer a Fall and Winter opportunity to train parents and community members in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA). During the YMHFA course, participants develop an understanding of the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, the importance of early intervention, and how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Participants will engage in a 2-hour self-paced online course followed by a 4.5-hour in-person session with a district trainer on Friday, November 19th from 12-4:30 pm. If you do not have access to needed technology for the online self-paced portion, arrangements can be made to provide you with a device and/or internet access. The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 19th. Please complete this survey to indicate your interest in participating. A confirmation email will be sent to finalize your enrollment in the course and next steps.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN UP - FALL 2021
Dear Country Dale families,
We will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences for 4K through 5th grade on Thursday, October 14th and Tuesday, October 19th from 4:30-8:00 pm. We look forward to having you sign up for a 15-minute time slot on one of these dates.
While conferences are a great time to check in with teachers, please remember that the best communication with parents is communication at the “right time” for the “right reason.” Parents are encouraged to utilize all methods of communication available (i.e. checking PowerSchool, asking students to show what they are doing through Google Classroom, reviewing emails or updates from the teacher, checking child planners, etc) to be informed and active partners in their child’s educational experience.
When signing up for conferences, if you have multiple children in the school, we recommend that you complete this process early for the best chance at grouping your conference times together.
This year, families will have the option for the Parent/Teacher Conferences to be held virtually or in person. If you would like to meet virtually, please add the word VIRTUAL after your Student’s name when you sign up for your child’s conference.
We request that parents who live in separate households schedule just one conference with each child’s teacher. By attending the conference together, we are able to share the same information with both parents at the same time. If this will not be possible for your family, please contact your child’s teacher.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Please use the student name when signing up. Thank you!
COME JOIN LEGO LEAGUE AT COUNTRY DALE
We are excited to announce Lego League at Country Dale Elementary. This is a STEM program run by volunteers for students in grades 3-5 that are interested in learning science, programming, and building lego models. The theme for this year from Lego Inspires is "CARGO Connect." Click here for more general information.
There is a cost per group involved with Lego League that is based on the number of participants. The estimated cost will be approximately $80.00 for a group of 7 children. The price could be more, as we move forward into the competition portion. Meetings will be conducted at Country Dale Elementary school, tentatively on Wednesdays from 6-7 pm.
If your child is interested in joining, please text/email Om Prakash at (510) 565-0590 or firstname.lastname@example.org before Thursday, September 30, 2021. More information will be shared once we finalize the number of students enrolled.

VISITORS AND VOLUNTEERS IN SCHOOL
In regards to visitors or volunteers, any person entering any school building during the school day when children are present for school is required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. Masks should be worn at all times when in the building, and the visitor/volunteer should limit direct contact with others and maintain social distance (6 feet or more) when able.
Visitors and volunteers who are outdoors during the school day where students are present are required to wear a mask unless they have been vaccinated. Visitors or volunteers in the building after school, in locations where students are not present, are not required to wear a mask.
Bus Driver Shortage: Please review this document that we shared on August 31 with all families to make you aware of how a bus driver shortage could impact our bus routes and how we will communicate this with you in the event we can not secure a driver for your child’s route.
Bus Riders Wear Masks: Any individual on a school bus (or any public transportation) is federally required to wear a mask. Please make sure your student has a mask before heading to the bus. Even if students are choosing not to wear a mask while at school, a mask must be worn on the bus at all times. Thank you.
Need a Bus Change or Addition? If you have any additions or changes needed for the busing of your child, please use this Bus Change or Addition Form.
