YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR PARENTS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS

As part of a School-Based Mental Health Grant we received as a district, we are excited to offer a Fall and Winter opportunity to train parents and community members in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA). During the YMHFA course, participants develop an understanding of the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, the importance of early intervention, and how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Participants will engage in a 2-hour self-paced online course followed by a 4.5-hour in-person session with a district trainer on Friday, November 19th from 12-4:30 pm. If you do not have access to needed technology for the online self-paced portion, arrangements can be made to provide you with a device and/or internet access. The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 19th. Please complete this survey to indicate your interest in participating. A confirmation email will be sent to finalize your enrollment in the course and next steps.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN UP - FALL 2021

Dear Country Dale families,

We will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences for 4K through 5th grade on Thursday, October 14th and Tuesday, October 19th from 4:30-8:00 pm. We look forward to having you sign up for a 15-minute time slot on one of these dates.

While conferences are a great time to check in with teachers, please remember that the best communication with parents is communication at the “right time” for the “right reason.” Parents are encouraged to utilize all methods of communication available (i.e. checking PowerSchool, asking students to show what they are doing through Google Classroom, reviewing emails or updates from the teacher, checking child planners, etc) to be informed and active partners in their child’s educational experience.

When signing up for conferences, if you have multiple children in the school, we recommend that you complete this process early for the best chance at grouping your conference times together.

This year, families will have the option for the Parent/Teacher Conferences to be held virtually or in person. If you would like to meet virtually, please add the word VIRTUAL after your Student’s name when you sign up for your child’s conference.

We request that parents who live in separate households schedule just one conference with each child’s teacher. By attending the conference together, we are able to share the same information with both parents at the same time. If this will not be possible for your family, please contact your child’s teacher.

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Please use the student name when signing up. Thank you!

COME JOIN LEGO LEAGUE AT COUNTRY DALE

We are excited to announce Lego League at Country Dale Elementary. The theme for this year from Lego Inspires is "CARGO Connect." Click here for more general information.

There is a cost per group involved with Lego League that is based on the number of participants. The estimated cost will be approximately $80.00 for a group of 7 children. The price could be more, as we move forward into the competition portion. Meetings will be conducted at Country Dale Elementary school, tentatively on Wednesdays from 6-7 pm.

If your child is interested in joining, please text/email Om Prakash at (510) 565-0590 or prakashom@aol.com before Thursday, September 30, 2021. More information will be shared once we finalize the number of students enrolled.

STUDENT FACE MASKS

Please have an extra mask in your student's backpack. We have had some students forget to bring a mask in the morning or lose their mask at lunch. Thanks for your help.

LUNCH MENU UPDATES & SWAPPED ITEMS

Our FPS Food Service Department is currently experiencing a number of changes in food supply offerings due to shortages or certain items. If you have a child that has certain dietary needs or restrictions, please review the online Nutrislice menu offerings for your building more closely so you can be aware of any food items that may have been swapped. Our Food Service staff is updating the menu daily with changes and they expect regular updates and food replacements for the foreseeable future.

BUS REMINDERS

Bus Reminders

  • Bus Driver Shortage: Please review this document that we shared on August 31 with all families to make you aware of how a bus driver shortage could impact our bus routes and how we will communicate this with you in the event we can not secure a driver for your child’s route.

  • Bus Riders Wear Masks: Any individual on a school bus (or any public transportation) is federally required to wear a mask. Please make sure your student has a mask before heading to the bus. Even if students are choosing not to wear a mask while at school, a mask must be worn on the bus at all times. Thank you.
