Distance Learning Resources

Deerwood Academy

What is Distance Learning?

Distance learning is an educational process where students receive instruction through online classes, video recordings, video conferencing, or any other audio/visual technology medium. It enables people to receive education without having to be physically present in a classroom. Because of the extended closure of the APS district, we plan to do everything in our power to ensure that the scholars of Deerwood Academy continue to have access to course content and resources that facilitate learning. To that end, please click the links below to be directed to a plethora of resources and learning opportunities meant to engage, challenge and enrich your child(ren).

STUDENTS CAN NOW TAKE AR TESTS FROM HOME!

Due to unexpected school closures, Renaissance Learning has made AR testing from home possible. Now, all students are able to read a book, and take an AR test to measure comprehension from the comfort of their homes! Students must make a score of at least 80% to receive points! Please encourage your scholars to read as many books as they possibly can and to test on them. You may even consider offering some special treats or incentives for taking tests and scoring well! All your scholars have to do is log in through mybackpack. Click here for the Accelerated Reader Parent Resource Guide to find out more about the program.
