CofFREE Friday (and other hot bevs)
I was trying to think of something else clever to use as a theme for today, but I CAN'T STOP looking at these vintage biodiversity drawings! So- I combined our typical Hot Bev announcement with - you guessed it - a drawing of a coffee tree.
According to Wikipedia: The Kentucky coffeetree, Gymnocladus dioicus, is a tree in the subfamily Caesalpinioideae of the pea family Fabaceae, native to the Midwest and Upper South of North America. The seed may be roasted and used as a substitute for coffee beans; however, unroasted pods and seeds are toxic. Yikes! Maybe all of you going to Appalachia can keep an eye out for one of these bad boys of the coffee world.
And don't forget to swing by the Honors Lounge for free hot bevs tomorrow morning. Bring your own mug and save the planet.

Opportunities
Participate in Meet Me @ the Music!
The annual Honors concert, Meet Me @ the Music, is around the corner and we would love for you to participate! Wondering what MM@M is? Well, it's been happening in Honors for years, and it's an opportunity for Honors professors and Honors students to show off their musical talents. A mix of sounds and personalities, it's a pretty good time!
You can participate in one of three ways:
Bring a group of performers together on your own.
-or-
Be willing to partner up with a faculty member to perform a collaborative piece.
-or-
Be a visual artist who wants to contribute to an art exhibition
Think you want to join us? Email Jared (jared.korb@temple.edu) and let him know, as well as what you play, and if you want to be paired up with a group or have your own.
