HAPPY THANKSGIVING:
Of all of the things I am grateful for, being here at Doss with YOU is at the top of my list! Enjoy your time off.
WINTER WISHES PROGRAM:
A number of our families received the sign up forms for our Winter Wishes program. This program matches sponsors with families that are requesting some assistance with gifts and clothing over the winter holiday season. If you have a family that requests assistance, please have them come to the office to complete the forms. If you have a family hoping to sponsor a family, the Wish Lists will be available for selection on Wednesday, November 29th. Happy Holidays!!
THANKSGIVING READING CHALLENGE:
A two-sided Reading Challenge flyer with myOn & VIA information and a color printed bookmark with access details will be in your boxes on Monday. Please send these home in Wed. folders and promote this through LT, newsletters, etc. as you communicate with families before the break. Here's a synopsis:

Please use this link: http://bit.ly/2wDrLXx to sign up for Nook carts. There will be 5 Nooks per cart and there will be a total of 9 carts. I am tweaking the checkout system, but wanted you to have access right away. Please remember that devices must be returned at the end of each day. Please let me know if you have any questions about these tablets. There are meant to supplement what you have in your classroom.
COMPUTER LAB
The computer Lab will be closed on Nov 29 for the 4th grade Writing Benchmark.
Doss will celebrate the Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week which is December 4-10. Computer Science Education Week is held annually in recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906). The Doss Owls Bookmark page has an Hour of Code folder with links for everyone’s homeroom. Login cards will be in your mailbox on Nov 17 so you can start with your class as soon as you would like. Please contact James if you have questions.
Tech tip - Here is something you can do to reduce the everyday stress at Doss. Reduce the number of emails we all look at by switching the default from reply all to just reply to the sender. 1. Click settings gear symbol in the top right corner. 2. Search for “reply” and click on “Reply options”. 3. Click “Reply”. 4. Remember to Save! You can still rely to all by clicking on the down arrow by “Reply” to show you more actions.
