Howdy Hounds!
Wow! We could not be more excited to welcome back our Hounds bright and early Monday morning! It's one of my favorite days of the year...the first day of school! We are looking forward to a fantastic year, and we feel so lucky to have the opportunity to work with your children!
Thank you to everyone that came to Meet the Teacher. It was such a delight to see all of our students and invite parents into the building to see our school. I know our staff left the building Thursday night with full hearts!
As a reminder, only parents of Pre-K and Kinder students will be permitted to park and walk their child into the building for the first day of school. Parking is extremely limited at our school, and unfortunately the roads surrounding the school are not conducive to parking.
In order to make room, our staff will be parking at the secondary campuses and will be shuttled to our building on the first day. If the Pre-K or Kindergarten student has an older sibling, they may walk into the building with their parent, but parents will not be permitted to visit the classrooms of first through fifth grade. Pre-K and Kindergarten parents received a parking pass at Meet the Teacher. Please note that parents will need to bring the parking pass to their child's teacher on the first day of school. Starting Tuesday, August 24th, all students will need to utilize the bus, daycare, or car rider drop off in the morning.
In an effort to assist with traffic flow during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, we will have the assistance of both the LCISD Police and Fulshear PD. Please be advised that nobody is permitted to park on Huggins Drive, per Fulshear PD. If you will be utilizing the car line in the morning or afternoon, please be sure that you have carefully reviewed the 21-22 Car Rider Map and Explanation below. Please be patient though the first couple of weeks of school, as we implement our arrival and dismissal procedures. The safety of our students is of upmost importance. Please expect longer than normal drop off and pick up lines as we implement our procedures for the 21-22 school year.
Please remember to have your students wear the labels they received at Meet the Teacher the first three days of school. Please be sure that your child also wears his/her lanyard and SMART Tag each day.
As a reminder, please remember we will not be permitting visitors at lunch. This is due to limited space in our cafeteria. Parents that wish to bring their child lunch may drop it off in the front office. We will look forward to welcoming lunch visitors during the spring semester!
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and is ready for a FANTASTIC 21-22 school year!
Sincerely,
Bethany Cunningham
Principal

School Meals...
Lamar CISD has announced its participation in the Seamless Summer Option for the 2021-2022 school year, offering healthy meals every school day to all students at no cost.
Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.
While no application or eligibility determination is required for our students to receive free meals this school year, income eligibility requirements will likely resume in the 2022-2023 school year.
Extra lunch entrees and a la carte items are not included with the no cost meals.
