Yes, You Do Need A Break

We all feel the need for this break! As it turns out, this break is essential for teachers to recharge and be fully prepared for the next semester. Need some ideas on what to do? Want to read about the research? Check out these resources and find your best recharge practice.

During this break, take time to rest, relax, and recharge. Spend time with family and friends. Reflect. Practice self-care.

I hope that your winter break is all that you need it to be!

Your TAs are a Valuable Asset!

Image this, you have a great lesson planned that incorporates a couple of different apps. It turns out that a few of your students don't know how to use the apps that your lesson requires. How do you bring them along while keeping your lesson on track? What if, instead of stopping the flow of the activity and teaching those few students how to use those apps, you had built in classroom tech support?

Student Teaching Assistants are a valuable resource in the 1:1 environment. They are your built-in classroom tech assistants. While you are focusing on the content of your lesson, they can be assisting students with the tech end. Those trusted students who become our TAs are often the same kind of students who are well-versed in our apps and the devices. When not, have your TAs meet with me and we'll work on developing those skills and testing out the tools before the lessons. It's a great partnership and means of building up our students.

When choosing your TAs for each semester, keep in mind what their comfort level with the iPad is and their willingness to learn. Then, let's plan how we can maximize your TAs in the classroom.

Which Digital Tools are You Using?

We've had a lot of freedom at Pine Creek regarding the tools we choose to use. We'd like to continue having you, the experts, continue to be the ones choosing the tools your students use. That's why we are asking you to partner with us.

Partner with us and help us ensure your tools are approved and ready for to use when you need them. PLAN AHEAD. Visit Pine Creek's Resource List; it includes the resources submitted by you. Don't see the one you'd like to use? Visit the District database. Still don't see your resource? Fill out the Digital Tool Application and we'll get it submitted to District IT for approval. Once the tool is approved, we'll update our list and inform you. This process takes time, especially if a purchase needs to be made.

Please be patient with us and the District as we embark on this new process. The District database is continually being updated as is our own resource list. Our goal is to ensure you have the resources you need while protecting our students' privacy.
