Report Cards
Dear Families,
I hope this note finds you well. I would like to start by extending my sincere appreciation for your efforts to support your child’s learning during this challenging time. Never in a million years could we have imagined how this year was going to end and we couldn’t have done it without you, so THANK YOU!
To that end, we would like to let you know that on June 18th, the last day of school, you will be receiving a link that will allow you to access your child’s report card through Aspen. You will also receive an email with your username and password to do so on Monday June 15th. By accessing Aspen you will be able to see your child’s report card and assigned teacher for next year. On the report card you will see grades for the first two semesters but we will not be providing grades for students for the last semester. Teachers will, however, provide a narrative in the teacher comment section to give you feedback on your child’s strengths, areas of focus, and level of engagement throughout this extended closure. The report card will also include your child’s teacher for next year.
As we have shared previously, we are not assigning grades in relation to standards for many reasons. We do not feel that any assessment of a student’s ability, in relation to individual standards, would be a fair assessment at this point in time. Additionally, we do not think it would be fair to hold students, who by no fault of their own could not participate, accountable for their performance during this time.
Please know that we are fully prepared to catch all our students up! We are currently in the process of remapping our curriculum and developing accelerated learning plans to ensure that we develop skills in students that they may have missed from the previous year. Our approach will be differentiated and tailored to each student’s needs and strengths.
While we recognize the challenges of the current situation and the work in front of us, we are also filled with optimism. We are confident about what the future holds because throughout all of this there is a silver lining. That silver lining can be found in the strengthened relationships and partnerships that now exist between our schools and families. Together we will come back stronger than ever!

Last Chance to Pickup Student Belonings
For those who could not make it this week to pick up student belongings Mr. Gobeil and myself will be here on Monday from 3 - 6:30 for pickup and drop off. 5th grade students do not need to pick up their belongings as the 5th grade team plans to drop off your belongings along with a shirt we are giving out to all grade 5 students. If Monday does not work we will arrange to keep everything in the office and when our main office opens for the summer you can pick up belongings then as well.

Summer Reading!
HBB is very excited to partner with the Middleborough Public Library for our Summer Reading Program this year. We believe that this collaboration will help benefit the families of HBB as well as the Middleborough community. Students will be able to earn virtual badges for reading and completing additional activities. There will also be opportunities to win grand prizes that will support the local community. Families are able to access this program online through the Beanstack app. A screen free option is also available by calling the library and registering over the phone. HBB and the Middleborough Public Library want to continue to encourage children to read this summer!
Please read the flyer and the video below for more information or click here for the entire packet and more detailed information!
You can also access the packet through the HBB Website by clicking on the Students and Families Tab and then selecting Summer Reading.
