The Fall Cohort Making Strides!
Back in October, the fall curriculum cohort attended a half day workshop on Understanding by Design. These thirty teachers learned how essential questions drive purposeful learning. They realized the importance of allowing students to uncover those "enduring understandings". They started to understand that they didn't have to "cover" every standard. They engaged in powerful discussions and asked a lot of questions about assessing and lesson planning. More importantly, teachers started to change their vocabulary and shift their mindset.
Most recently, they met again on Dec 6th at CLASS Academy to apply what they had learned back in October and begin drafting units in Rubicon. They navigated throughout the Rubicon/ Atlas system, adding their units and aligning their objectives to content and CTE standards.
Kudos to the fall cohort who is making strides and eager to attend another release day to continue their work!
*A huge thank you to CLASS Academy for hosting our session and to Ms. Wyatt and her students for providing breakfast :)
