Team Columbia
Average is OFFICIALLY over!
ACT, ACT, ACT!!
Team Columbia:
During this week, Junior students need to live, breath, and eat ACT skills in preparation for the exam on February 20. We have a lot riding on the success of our Junior Class. This test will determine our Math and Reading proficiency grades on our State Report Card as well as the Math and Reading Growth grades on our State Report Card. For Juniors especially, ensure that you are going over ACT skills and strategies this week.
Encourage the students to attend the Bootcamp on Thursday or Friday, whichever day they are scheduled. You may also give them a grade for their participation. We would like to thank Ms. McCants, Ms. Pettus, Mrs. LeCompte, Ms. Kelly and Ms. Smith for volunteering to conduct our Bootcamp this year. We also thank Mrs. Arnold, Mr. Arnold, Mr. McCormick, and Mrs. Goodson for the use of their classrooms during the Bootcamp. Teamwork makes a dream work!
Along with the Bootcamp, Mr. Hayden will be conducting the Pre-Aministration for the ACT on February 20 on this Thursday and Friday. Students will be filling out their demographic information portion so it can be complete before test day.
As always, thank you all for going above and beyond! It is really appreciated.
Have a great week of teaching and learning!
TAKE ATTENDANCE DAILY IN EACH CLASS PERIOD IN INOW!!
Many of you are not taking attendance all day. It is the school-wide procedure and expectation to take attendance in each class every day within the first ten (10) minutes of class. Make it your practice to give a bellringer everyday so that you can complete this task. This is not optional but a requirement.
Please adhere to this directive.
-Mr. Porter
