Georgia O'Keeffe
Biography
Georgia O'Keeffe was born in Sun Prarie, Wisconsin in 1887. She was one of seven children in her family. She started art from an early age, and went to art school in South Carolina, New York, and Chicago. She is known for painting realistic still life, landscapes, and other natural forms. Not only was she world-renown in the 1920's, but she presently is still one of the most famous painters in history.
Flowers
Flowers are the most recurring subjects of her work. She created over 200 paintings of them. In 1928, six of her calla lily paintings sold for $25,000, the largest price ever paid at that time for a group of paintings by an American artist.
Significant Painting- "Two Calla Lily on Pink", 1928
This was a painting that was similar to the six works that are noted above. Her cala lily paintings were the most expensive ones sold. They were, and still are very famous.

Jonathan Harris
A very similar artist to Georgia O'Keeffe, Harris has very bright colors, and hard lines in his work. He paints mainly southwestern settings, just like the skulls and desert scenes depicted in O'Keeffe's work.
