Mentoring at Wallace Middle School
Volunteers Needed
Volunteer for Mentoring Program
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer mentor? Are you interested in helping change someone's life? We are looking for any interested faculty or staff member to become a mentor. We need your help. Wallace Middle School is starting a mentoring program this school year to help students with attendance and discipline problems. Our goal is to lower the high percentage of absentee students and discipline issues. All mentors will be trained.
What Do Mentors Do?
The bottom line is mentors care. Mentors meet with the student they are paired with once a week to discuss what is going on in the student's life. Mentors guide their mentee and offer emotional support. They can help with grades, and any problems the student may encounter. Mentors are role models for students and they guide them through mutual respect throughout the year.
