Next Level of Instruction:
Instructional Coaches - Supports ALL Teachers
The Instructional Coaches would like to thank the teachers and staff of CCS for welcoming us into your classrooms this year. We are already planning and looking forward to a new school year! As you are planning for the new year, please contact us with any resources you may need. We will be happy to work along side of you to help improve instruction for the students of CCS.
The role of the coach is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional practices as related to Common Core and Data Driven Instruction.
An instructional coach is a learner who models continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and goes above and beyond to ensure student success. All instructional coaches work collaboratively as a team with members of the Division of Evaluating and Innovative Programs, Mrs. Sandy Thompson is the Coordinator.
Instructional coaches will promote reflection, provide guidance and structure where needed, and focus on strengths, collaboration and common issues of concern, grades PreK-12. No teacher/paraprofessional is left behind......
They are responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. The instructional coach will demonstrate and model a passion for education reform and leadership.
This is NOT a supervisory position and DOES NOT include evaluation of colleagues.
This is a great short article regarding math conversations and how important to have the kids having these conversations, which will also increase their reading ability and comprehension:)
