Booktalks and Bagels

On Tuesday, December 15 the library hosted "Booktalks and Bagels" from 7:45 to 8:30. Instead of our usual book club format of reading and discussing a book we invited students and teachers to share a quick one minute booktalk with the group to "sell" their book. Everyone enjoyed bagels, donuts, juice, and coffee and we all got some great ideas for new books to read. You can view a full list of the titles we shared on the book club webpage.

Dewey the Library Elf

Dewey the Library Elf made an appearance in the library in December. He shared helpful book recommendations and enjoyed learning how to use OverDrive for his long trip back to the North Pole. He even participated in "Speed Dating with Books"!

Speed Dating with Books

The English classes were invited to participate in "Speed Dating with Books" during the last week before Christmas break. Students had three minutes at each of eight tables to get to know as many books as possible with the hopes of finding that perfect match! Students completed a worksheet where they recorded titles that they may like to read later. Many students left with something to read over the break.

New Additions

We added 147 copies to the collection in December including 8 new unlimited simultaneous access ebook titles about genocide that can be accessed through Universal Search. See the full list here.
