From the Principal's Desk......
- The pledge of allegiance rotation will start this week. During your week, please send down 2-3 students each day by 7:55. It will be important to start announcements/pledges promptly. Mr. Eaton's class will be up first and Mrs. Grandy's class will take over the week of September 10th.
- We will have a staff meeting on Tuesday, September 4th from 2:55-3:55. Typically, staff meetings will be held on Mondays unless noted otherwise. Please make every effort to be in attendance at these meetings and be an active participant.
- Please join me in welcoming Tiffany Wika. Tiffany was hired as a long-term substitute for music. She will be working on Tuesdays and Fridays. We are very excited to have her join our staff!
- Just a reminder for teachers..... Please make sure your lesson plans have been submitted and are up-to-date by the morning of our first student day of each week.
- Safe Schools Online Training - Please make sure training is completed by the end of the day on Friday, September 28th.
- If you haven't already sent me your daily schedule, please do so as soon as possible. Please send it as a Google doc or Word document so I can save it on my Google Drive for easy access.
- Student Council applications were handed out last week to 3rd and 4th graders. These applications are due Friday, September 7th.
- NWEA testing will begin this week and should be completed by September 28th. Please start reading testing before moving onto math. Also, 3rd and 4th grade teachers may have noticed that there is now a science assessment. This assessment is new this year and will help identify our learning gaps. If necessary, please be sure to review the instructions for proctoring testing sessions. You can find those instructions by clicking on the condensed version of the Ling Elementary NWEA Proctoring Instructions.
- GoMath and Journeys materials - The additional materials have arrived. However, they all arrived at different buildings and were combined with other grade level boxes. Please give us a day or so to check it all in and get it distributed to your classrooms.
- Back to School Tailgate - The back to school tailgate will be held on Friday at 6:00 p.m. before the start of the varsity football game. Please make sure you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
