Third Grade Thrills

Our Final Week in Third Grade

Dear Parents,

It is so hard to believe our final week is upon us! I have been so blessed to have a kind, hardworking, and overall awesome class this year. The support and kindness of all of you has been extremely appreciated as well. The end of the year is bittersweet as I reflect on the wonderful progress and accomplishments of the kiddos. I am so proud of each and everyone of them. Your children have become like my own, especially having many of them for two years. Saying goodbye on Friday will be especially tough. Thank you for entrusting your children with me. It has been a true joy.

Have a fun and safe summer,

Melissa

Keep Those Skills Fresh this Summer!

Please encourage your child to read and practice math facts this summer to start off the fourth grade year strong. I will be sending home a math review packet for my third grade math class as well. Completing the packet is not mandatory, but as an added incentive, any child who completes the packet can turn it into me the first week of school to get a treat. I am also sending home a reading packet today for my friends who are below or at the third grade reading level benchmark for additional practice in fluency and comprehension. The reading packet is not mandatory, but is an option for parents who are looking to provide some more practice for their child over the summer.

End of the Year Celebration

We will have an End of the Year Celebration in our classroom on Friday. As part of the celebration, we will have a picnic with hot dogs, chips, Gatorade, and ice cream treats. If your child does not like hot dogs, please be sure to send a snack in that day for him or her.
