Principal's Corner
First of all, I want to THANK YOU all for your response to the canned food drive! We collected over 1000 cans of food! This is amazing! What a great school community! First grade came through with the victory of the class that brought the most cans!
I am so grateful to be here at Freeman working with all of the amazing staff, students and families that we serve. Each of you are a blessing and I appreciate you! I have received some feedback regarding the newsletter- I will continue posting in DOJO and will also email it out to families. Thank you for your feedback!
Attendance contests are going strong! Please continue sending your students to school unless they are sick! We must have them here to teach them!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving week with lots of food, family and friends! We will see you back on Monday!
Attendance Reminders
Reminder that once a student reaches 10 unexcused absences, the will be referred for truancy court.
In addition, state law required students to meet 90% attendance for the school year or will risk being retained for the school year- this applies to excused and unexcused absences.
PARENT RESOURCE FOR EMERGENT BILINGUALS
TEA has updated their “Parents and Families” portal. Here families can find relevant
information and resources to support the educational needs of their Emergent Bilingual
students. Resources include important tips, instructional resources, and videos in
multiple languages. In addition, they publish a quarterly newsletter, available in English
and Spanish.
Please share the following with your Emergent Bilingual families in your next
weekly newsletter:
