GETTING LEFT BEHIND ... TEACHERS ?

Flight or Plight

NO TEACHER LEFT BEHIND

In order to assure quality teachers training must be made available. Our changing educational system mandates it. Training can be incorporated into monthly or quarterly meetings. There is various number of days each program year set aside as staff development. These timeframes can be utilized for small or large groups training sessions. Preplanning for such events can be scheduled in yearly calendars. Keep in mind that adjustment may have to be made to accommodate needs.

Another idea is to collaborate with other agencies and schools to utilize any of their resources.

Consistent standard for all teachers

Teachers are held to standards. These measures help us with ethical and moral factors. To become state certified that are standards an individual must meet. Presently, these standards may vary from state to state. If it is our goal to develop a more unified system then we must united on all frontier. If my second grader in rural South Carolina is held accountable for the same math skills as a second grader from Northern New Hampshire, teachers alike need the same competency levels.

HIGH STAKES TESTS

Each school or district must show growth in measurable means. This shows up as enrollment, attendance, student achievement and the list continues. Taking steps to assure that your staff are well equipped for the tasks at hand can become another measure of growth. Preparation (training) and implementation (hands-on experiences) will show that your teachers are moving one step forward in a world where social media and global connections is a part of the 21st learners’ world. We are lifetime learners young or aging. This approach ties in nicely with the standards of the ISTE Standards for Teachers.
