Principal's Corner - Welcome Mrs. Yazzie
Welcome Mrs. Yazzie, as our new Administrative Secretary. We are lucky to have such a quick learner join us in the middle of the school year. She came to us from Ft Hood and has brought with her a strong can do attitude as well as a great voice for our morning announcements. Thank you Mrs. Yazzie for joining our school family.
Wash your hands. Several bugs are going around and one caught me. Stay safe and if you get symptoms stay home and rest until you're doing better for 24hrs.
Rachel Blackwell has been selected as our principal of next year, 2023-2024. She is the current assistant principal at Tanana Middle School.
Our PTA has a Valentine Gram for the mid-February holiday. Order forms come from your teacher or can be found at the front office. Orders are due by Feb 10th.
There are several student contests going on: Arctic Light Science Fair, Arctic Innovations, Arctic Light Art Contest, and the Elizabeth Peratrovich Sticker Contest. See below for more information.
On February 13th, our School Climate Survey will be made available. This is an in-depth questionnaire about our school and school community. Please take the time to complete this survey.
This week we start awarding Terrific Kid certificates. These 1st-3rd grade classroom awards come from the partnership we have with Kiwanis and North Haven Communities.
Later this week, I'm heading to the National Title One Conference. This is good news as it points to the fact that we will be fully funded next year for Title One. Being fully funded will bring key staff members back to our team, something we've missed this year.
Here's to the days getting brighter.
Do Good Work, Be a Friend, Every Day.
