Say bye-bye cold and hi heat
Why the Southern Colonies?
The Southern Colonies have hot summers, and warm winters. The soil is great for crops and the growing season was the longest of any region, but with those hot summers comes many diseases, like yellow fever or malaria.
The religion in the south was Anglican, Baptist or Presbyterian, however religion isn't as important to Southern Colonist, as it is to the New England and Mid - Atlantic Colonist.
And all you farmers out there this is your chance. Since the Southern Colonies have such great soil the economy was based entirely on farming, but rice, indigo, tobacco, and cotton were considered the cash crops. And good news there were slaves and indentured servants! They can do work on land. And Charleston, South Carolina is one of the centers for the slave trade in America.
Hope you choose the Southern Colonies.
