From the Principal's Point of View...
Dear Eagleville Families,

May 14…Spring Concert

May 20...Career Day
On May 13-as the only Title I elementary school in the District, our school will be participating in a Title I audit. Please contact me if you have any questions about our Title I program.
On May 7-All Methacton School District Elementary Schools will show a short video to our K-4 students regarding the PA Statewide Safe2Say Something Initiative. Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program. Visit: https://www.safe2saypa.org/parents-educators/.
Career Day - On May 20th, Eagleville students will participate in Career Day. Several parents and community members will be volunteering and sharing their work experience with the students. If you are interested in participating or have questions, please contact Ms. Shaw at 610-489-5000, ext. 41207. It should be a great and enlightening experience for the students!
You may have heard that I am transitioning into the role of Supervisor of Secondary Education at the conclusion of the year. A new principal will be hired for the next school year. It’s hard for me to fathom that I am completing my last year here at Eagleville. I have enjoyed my time as principal at this lovely school over the past few years. I am a firm believer that change is good, so I am looking forward to seeing what this next chapter brings.
A reminder that spring has sprung-students are permitted to wear shorts of an appropriate length. Shirts that reveal the midriff or tank tops are not permitted. For safety purposes, please do not allow your child to wear open-toed, flip-flop, or sandal-type footwear. These can be very dangerous when entering and exiting buses, while walking in the hallways or on the playground. Also, please do not allow students to bring electronic toys or gadgets to school to avoid having them lost or stolen. With so many fun events coming up, we are sending extra reminders to students to behave appropriately. We understand that children become excitable at this time of the year, but we need to continue to focus on learning as well as safety and responsibility. Please help us reinforce this important notion with your child(ren).
As shared in the newsletter last month, it is not my practice to honor parent requests for specific classroom placement as we consider several variables when developing balanced classroom assignments that meet the needs of each learner. I trust that our staff unders Thank you, in advance, for your understanding concerning this matter. You will be notified of your child’s homeroom in August. Moreover, you will receive notification regarding AM/PM kindergarten session in late June. Kindergarten screening of incoming students will take place on June 6-7.
In conclusion, school is in session on May 7 and closed on May 21 and school is closed 5/24-27 for Memorial Day. Fun Day is scheduled for Friday, June 11 (rain or shine). We dismiss at 2:30PM on June 11-13 and at 11:30AM on the last day of school, June 14. Many activities and events are planned for the children—remember to check their book bags for notes and information. Enjoy the wonderful month of May, and happy Mother’s Day on May 12!
