School Routine
The children are beginning to understand our class schedule and routines! The children have been introduced and participated in many new school activities including:
"Mystery Question", Science Eyes, Story Labs, Graphics Practice, Buddy Reading, Share the News, and Freeze Dance. Each month our activities will grow and gain in difficulty level to continue to support the development of your child!
Consistency and routine are key in your child's development. Thank you for your continued support in striving for perfect attendance and having your child arrive to school by 8:50 (or 8:40 if they eat breakfast with us).

Family Study
As the school year began, our class demonstrated excitement in sharing information about their families, discussing about their families while visiting the picture frames in our dramatic play center that proudly display our family photos, and taking on the roles of various family members in play!
Take a peek below at some of the fun we've had in each center! Please note, if you don't see your child below, it is because we do not have your permission to share outside of classroom use. If you would like to change this, please see Miss Sammy or Miss Lisa!

Our Names
We started the year participating in many different activities to learn each other's names! One of our activities included reciting the "Everybody Has a Name" poem and using one to one correspondence placing one unifex cube under each letter of our name. We worked together to count the letters in our names and identify which friends have the least/most letters in their name!
Some of the other name activities we participate in regularly include singing "Hickety Pickety Bumble Bee" and playing I Have Who Has Names!

Pajama Day Fun!
Humpty Dumpty
Our class learned and recited the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme. One day upon returning to our class from the playground, we found Humpty Dumpty in pieces on our floor!
The children worked together to put Humpty back together and then taught him our class rules! Rules are important as they are to help keep us healthy, happy and safe!
Have your child tell you our 5 class rules:

Apples All Around!
In celebration of Johnny Appleseed's birthday, September 26th, we read stories about apples, apple trees, and observed the exterior and interior of apples using all 5 senses!
The children commented on the colors, stem, skin, textures, scent, taste, and even the "crunch" apples make when biting into them!
The children were excited to observe, paint with apples, eat apples fresh, and cook and eat our very own class made applesauce!
What is your favorite way to eat an apple?
