Scot Nation: At A Glance
October 23rd-28th
THIS IS BIG!
I want to extend a huge "thank you" to each of you for your support and encouragement during the Apply Kansas: College Application Month event yesterday. Our seniors did a great job of staying focused and left knowing they had just made a few more steps forward on the path to their bright futures. I still have to complete my final tally, but preliminary counts show that we had 105 students complete 120 college applications! When you see our seniors, please congratulate them on a job well done and encourage them to keep pushing forward through the other steps that will ensure they have a smooth transition to college.
Since being here at HP full-time in August, I have seen glimpses of greatness that let me know I was in the right place and my role as a College and Career Advocate made a difference. Yesterday, the seniors went above and beyond my expectations and let me know It's DEFINITELY Great to be a Scot!
Have an amazing day,
Dr. Duncan
Several Seniors were out for Math Competition & Band Contest
If you have a Senior or know a Senior, ask them which schools they applied to and encourage them to apply for more. It wasn't very difficult, but some of the students just needed a protected amount of time to click through everything and enter the information and others just needed someone sitting there with them to provide support. I want to start posting pictures of students with acceptance letters and counselors/college career advocate! Asking Seniors these questions of encouragement also allows our underclassmen to set goals, now.
Remember, we have to speak the language of college and career all the time!

Coach Kraft believes this is a valuable opportunity for his 7 seniors and has adjusted practice time for the student athletes. They will have 7:00am practice on Wednesday and will need an hour and half to practice and then of course we will need them to shower! This will allow the young men to get ready for play-offs and be at the college fair. Additionally, he will be attending with our young men. Thank you, Coach Kraft for focusing on college for our young men.
This will cause our young men to miss first hour and a portion of second hour. This will be marked in PS for your convenience. Thank you for your support and prepare for any adjustment you may have to make.
