We will have about 20-25 students from SFHS come to Mashburn on Friday. The students would love to help support teachers during BN time. If you would like to have additional support in BN on Friday, please email Katie by Thursday Morning.
Action Item:
Email Katie by THURSDAY if you would like support during BN groups on Friday.
SPARK Success!
· We have gotten some great feedback from the postcards. Students are loving receiving the postcards in the mail!
· If you have any students that you would like to recognized on the news for showing SPARK or 7 Mindsets, please let me know. I will feature them on the Monday news during our SPARK Segment.
· Remember to fill out the Teacher Postcards for a chance of a drawing during the Faculty Meetings.
· You can also turn off the parent communication button on Dojo. If you do so, please let the parents know, you will only be responding to email.
· Some of you have asked about reflection sheets. You may use reflection sheets for your own classroom management but you will not turn anything into me.
· Remember when giving a negative dojo point, it is always a good rule of thumb to think about the 4 positive points for 1 negative point ratio.
· Just a reminder that the categories in Dojo are set up to match the categories on the report cards.
· As a grade level, please decide how many warnings you will give before taking a dojo point away. Also, please communicate this to the parents. Hopefully, this will help with eliminate some emails.
· Your grade level may want to send a reminder home to parents about what each category means in your grade level.
For the month of August School-Wide Data:
Teacher Check-Out Status
Kim Hobbs has placed a yellow sheet in your mailboxes that shows what is checked out under your name. She is looking to verify the teacher materials that show are checked out to you and the barcodes match up.
Please have these items out on a table so that I can verify during your lunch time. Please leave the yellow paper with this items. Any concerns and or questions can be listed on that paper.
Note: some teachers materials are listed under Library Materials AND Textbooks.
Action Item:
Please lay all the items on your yellow sheet out for Kim to check tomorrow during your lunch time.

5K for Forsyth
What we need to do:
Sign up for the iRun! Get your grade level to sign up! Show some Mashburn love and have lets have THE MOST PARTICIPANTS of any other school!! You know a ton of us run (or walk) these 5K's all the time--why not do one together to help our kids! Bring your family!! When you sign up, on the emergency contact page, it asks if you are running for a school, and then you can mark what school you are from. Make sure you mark it so Mashburn gets credit! If you can't be there, there is also a way you can donate/sign up as a "phantom runner" and indicate that you are "running" for Mashburn…so we can still show our support for this!!
Packet pickup will be at the BOE on the afternoon of October 5th from 11:30-6:00 pm (I will be happy to pick up packets for whoever needs me to and have them there race day morning)!
Cost: $25.00 (+3.00 sign up) now $30.00 after September 25th: this goes directly to funding technology for Forsyth County kids. If you are like me, you look for events like this where the fee goes to a good cause...what better cause than the kids in our own county!
o your grade levels first, then I will send out an invitation to the entire staff on Thursday.
This invitation and challenge comes straight from Dr. Bearden--let's surround him and our kids with some Mashburn pride!
Thank you so much for your help with this!
Please let Keri Cook know if you have any questions!
