Over the past couple of years, due to the support of our community, we’ve successfully collected thousands of cans. We look forward to another successful year and need your help to #BEATdenison and collect the most cans!
Listed below are a few examples of items that can be contributed:
- Tuna or other canned meats
- Canned Fruit
- Canned or Dried Beans
- Canned Vegetables
- Pasta
Tomorrow is the last day to donate. Items may be donated at the SHS campus or the SISD administration building until 4:30pm on Thursday.
Thank You!
Dr. Tamy Smalskas personally delivered more than $600 in donations to the SHS Student Council on behalf of the Sherman Lions, Kiwanis, and Rotary clubs. Thank you for your support!

New Sherman High School Construction Hits One Year Mark
The new Sherman High School construction project hit the one year mark since breaking ground on August 8 of 2018. The construction crews have made significant progress with vertical construction since July. Throughout the past year, construction crews have moved more than 98 acres of dirt. Below grade components of this project have consisted of the installation of more than 200,000 If of water, sanitary and storm lines. As we approach the end of summer, vertical construction for the academic building, auditorium, cafeteria, field house, and multipurpose activity center will advance, with our athletic fields following in September.
In 2017, voters approved a $176 million bond election to address several district needs, which included the construction of a new Sherman High School that will welcome students at the start of the 2020 school year. To view the new Sherman High School construction in progress, please visit the district’s live web link page at www.ShermanISD.net/BondUpdate.
