Harvard Model United Nations 2022
Maha feels like they developed a solid solution and she was grateful for the myriad of perspectives that all of the delegates brought to the table. While this excursion was not sponsored by QHS due to limits on Field Trips during COVID, one of our History Teachers, Mrs. McMillen was instrumental in assisting families with the planning and preparations for this experience. Maha and all of the students expressed their gratitude for the support of the school and their families along with the assistance from Mrs. McMillen that made this opportunity possible. Here at QHS, we are looking forward to many more years of having QHS Student Delegates on the committees at HMUN.

Music Mondays
On Monday, February 7 the following bio was read and the song below was played - Did you know who the artist was before seeing the video?
Born Eunice Kathleen Waymon on February 21, 1933, this young woman from Tenessee eventually studied music at the Juliard School in New York City. She eventually changed her name to hide from family members that did not approve of her musical lifestyle. She went on to record more than 40 albums between 1958 and 1974, making her debut with Little Girl Blue. Some of her greatest hits include "I Put A Spell on You", "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and the one you will hear today, "Feeling Good." Please select your answer from the Artists listed below.

Do You Have a Pass?
The team of teachers created a list of Student Expectations to accompany this updated Pass requirement. These expectations were posted in classrooms and near the entrance to each of the bathrooms. We were able to translate the expectations into Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Vietnamese as well. The expectations listed include:
1. Always be respectful of staff and students
2. Always have a properly signed pass
and
3. Students need a pre-signed pass to leave their study hall to go to another class.
These three expectations, along with the others listed, are not new to students but will serve as reminders of how to move through the building and conduct ourselves in the process.

The QNQ Girls Hockey team is poised for another postseason state tournament appearance, currently with an 8-6 record. Two of the stars on the team have been QHS senior Maddie Bailey and QHS junior Maggie Lynch. They both eclipsed impressive milestones this season - Maddie Bailey joined the 100 point club and Maggie scored her 100th career goal. Congratulations!
QNQ Swimming showed their skills in the pool on 2/5 at the Patriot League Championship Meet. The girls team finished in 7th place overall, while the boys team achieved 3rd place. In addition, the Boys 400 freestyle relay team broke both the Quincy and North Quincy school records during their meet vs. Norwell.

Shoutout to QHS senior Mike Nellany who won both the Whitman Hanson Invitational and Weymouth Tournament in the 182 pound division. Impressive wrestling was displayed by Caleb Baliton, Nathan Doyle, Edwin Vino, and Jonathan Bina throughout the season. The team prepares for the Division 1 South Sectionals on the weekend of February 12th.
Girls Basketball is making strides with the goal of qualifying for the state tournament. They currently sit with a 7-8 record with 5 games remaining on their schedule.
