A Message from the PTO and Athletic Booster Club

Parents, Grandparents, Alumni and North Star Supporters,

The 2020-2021 school year has created unprecedented challenges for all students at St. Charles North. It has hit our Senior class of 2021 the hardest by depriving them of the social events that they have worked the last 3 years to earn. As this year is coming to a close the Staff, students and PTO are doing their best to plan some special activities to honor our Seniors. WE NEED YOUR HELP to support these events and make them special. We plan to purchase gifts that will be given away as part of these events. All seniors will be entered into a drawing for these gifts. We are asking for your financial support to make these purchases possible. Please do what you can to make this special for the SCN Class of 2021.

Hello D303 Community! We hope this flyer finds you safe, healthy, feeling good, and getting ready to celebrate what has truly been a momentous year! In the spirit of spring and the hope that we will be able to celebrate special events like birthdays, Mother’s Day, and, as we know now, graduations, two of our honor societies have partnered with a local nursery, Shady Hill Gardens, in Elburn, IL, to offer $25 gift certificates to be used at their store. These gift cards never expire and can be used to purchase anything that Shady Hill offers in gardening and home decor throughout the year. Please use the QR code to place your order! Thanks in advance for your support!

National Superhero Day - April 28

On April 28, 1995, the first National Superhero Day was celebrated to honor all the superheroes who act as role models for so many of us. Medical workers, Police, and firefighters, teachers, social justice advocates, frontline service employees, etc., who don’t wear fancy capes or suits, yet have shown heroic effort to help those in need. Here are a couple of great reads about everyday superheroes.

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson

Just Mercy tells the story of EJI, from the early days with a small staff facing the nation’s highest death sentencing and execution rates, through a successful campaign to challenge the cruel practice of sentencing children to die in prison to revolutionary projects designed to confront Americans with our history of racial injustice. I Had To Survive by Dr. Roberto Canessa and Pablo Vierci

This uplifting tale of hope and determination, solidarity, and ingenuity gives a vivid insight into a world-famous story. Canessa also draws a unique and fascinating parallel between his work as a doctor performing arduous heart surgeries on infants and unborn babies and the difficult, life-changing decisions he was forced to make in the Andes.
