A Refreshed Mind
The school year is off to a wonderful start.
So many students were genuinely excited to be walking in to our doors to see smiling staff members greeting them.
One of the aspects I enjoy the most about summer is that it offers the opportunity for a “rebirth” of our teaching spirits. After summer break, our patience is still plentiful, smiles easily come across our faces, utopian thoughts are present in our heads.
Later in the year, our perspectives do shift with the increasing pressure and demand of time, effort, and patience. This week, I want to encourage you to flip a few months ahead in your lesson plan book, or on a calendar and jot a few positives down about your class or words of encouragement that you may anticipate you need throughout the year. This way, when you most need it, (maybe the week before spring break?) you will run across your own positive thoughts and encouragement and it may just lighten and brighten your mood a little bit.
Hold on to your refreshed spirit as long as you can. I promise you, from the outside, it truly is an amazing thing to see.
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
