Shout Out!
Shout out to everyone for starting the new year on a positive note! To the six teachers who have finished dibels! Kindergarten teachers for passing out the car rider sticks every day this week. Second grade teachers for placing STEM projects in the case on Friday.
Expectations-Halls, dismissal, cafeteria, etc.
This is a great time to review the rules again with students. Common areas such as cafeteria and the multipurpose room will need reminders. Please remember we agreed as a staff that the multipurpose should be quiet and that includes adults.
prop doors
Today John and I both found the doors to the mobiles propped open. We are pretty sure one was a parent but the time I found the door propped open with the silver insect catchers on each hall was around 10:15. Please do not prop any doors open.
Walk throughs
Walk throughs will start again this week. We will be looking at grade level data at our next PD session.
MTSS-Monday
MTSS committee will be meeting on Monday. We will meet in the Discovery Lab beginning at 3:30pm. MTSS PLC will be moved to Thursday, January 28th.
Bingo Night-Tuesday
The PTA will be sponsoring a bingo night on Tuesday. Time will be given for staff attendance at this event. It begins at 6pm.
Units of Study optional professional development-Thursday
An optional professional development session will be provided on the Units of Study writing on Thursday, January 14th, from 3:30-5:00. You will receive CEUs for your attendance. There will be an outside consultant giving the PD.
Young Authors Program-Thursday
The Young Author's program will be held on Thursday.
Grades K – 1 from 9:30 – 10:30
Grades 4 – 5 from 11:00 – 12:00
Grades 2 – 3 from 1:00 – 2:00
End of 9 weeks-Friday
Friday is the end of the second 9 weeks.
Creativity hour-Friday
Each grade level is required to schedule an hour of creativity on Friday as a part of our STEM recognition goal.
Mclass/aimsweb/SMI
mClass, aimsweb, SMI will all close on January 27th. There are no extensions given for these assessments. Please make sure you have set aside enough time to complete.
Staff Meeting-January 20th
We will have our staff meeting on January 20th beginning at 9:00am. We will have a short staff development provided by DefinedSTEM then work on rigor. We will end by lunch time.
January 19th-Required workday
January 19th is a required workday. Unless the district has something planned for your area you will have that day to work in your room.
Reading Services
Reading services will be end for first semester students. We will review data from MOY to determine students for next semester the next week. Reading services will begin for the second semester on February 1st.
It takes a village
Last year we started It takes a village award for staff nominated by staff. If you have someone that you want to nominate please let me know.
