Dilyn-Week of February 22
Student-Led Conference
"Putting students in the driver's seat of their parent-teacher conferences creates opportunities for reflection, engagement, and agency [advocating for oneself, autonomy]."
"Not only does investing time in conference prep ensure a successfully led conference, it also encourages student and parent attendance. Students are excited to tell their parents what they've learned, and parents are more apt to attend because their kids are excited."
Have a great week! Take this time to learn all you can about our students.
Heart and Sole
Thank you to Coach Wenger, Coach Bierman, and Coach Graven for volunteering to lead our program at the middle school. We are also very excited to have three high school girls joining us as Jr. coaches.
We still have room for a few more girls. The program is open to 6th-8th grade girls. If you know someone that may be interested have them contact the coaches!
The philosophy of the program: "At Girls on the Run, we believe adolescents bring a lot to the table. We also know that girls at this age often sort through conflicting messages about their worth, their abilities and their value. Our middle school programs help girls develop the skills to tune into their own truths and to unleash their power to live confidently and joyfully. "
