Weekly Update

Flambeau High School

From the Principal's Office

Mr. Gerber and his entrepreneurship class have worked extremely hard to get The Falcon Nest, our new school store, off the ground. While the physical store, which will be located in our Junior High, is still being prepared for its grand opening, many products are now available online. Please find the link to the store on our website (flambeau.k12.wi.us/students). The link is also below. Show your Falcon pride and order some gear!

Flambeau's ACADEC Team Success!

Flambeau's ACADEC team, led by Mrs. Griesbach, is one of 60 teams that are advancing to the regional competition on January 10th. ACADEC teams consist of nine full-time students, and offers appeal of mental competition at all achievement levels.

This year's theme is New Alternatives to Energy: Ingenuity and Innovation, and all studying is focused on this topic. At the regional competition, students will be required to give a 4 minute prepared and 2 minute impromptu speech, conduct a personal interview, and write an essay. We wish them the best of luck in their competition and hope that they will advance to the state competition in Wisconsin Dells in March, and the national competition in California in April.

The benefits of participation in Academic Decathlon events are to provide structure to produce clear and effective communicators, self-directed and life-long learners, creative and practical problem solvers, responsible and involved citizens, collaborative and quality workers, and integrative and informed thinkers.
