O'Neil's News

It is my favorite time of the year. I love every opportunity to celebrate school pride. Spirit Week begins on Monday. The week will conclude with the Homecoming game on Friday, September 30th at 7 PM.


Homecoming events include:


  • Columbia School District Pep Assembly-1 PM, Columbia Central High School Gymnasium.
  • Homecoming Parade-5 PM, Downtown Brooklyn
  • 50th Anniversary Alumni Reception-6 PM, Columbia Central High School Parking Lot (Look for the Hospitality Tent)
  • Columbia Central High School Varsity Football Game vs. Onsted-7 PM, CCHS Football Field


CES and CUES will be walking together in the parade. We invite all of our students to join us. If your child plans to participate in the parade, please meet Mrs. O'Neil and our teachers in the football field parking lot behind CUES. All students will need a ride home following the parade.

CUES Craft Club is Back!

See below for information regarding our Craft Club. The first session will be for 5th and 6th grade. We will hold a 3rd and 4th grade Craft Club beginning in January.

Mr. Moore

Mr. Moore is the K-6th grade technology teacher. He also is an assistant coach to the CCHS varsity football team. Mr. Moore loves to travel and enjoys warm and sunny climates. He is an avid sports fan. Some if his favorite foods are pizza and turkey avocado wraps.

Subway Day

Tuesday, Sep. 27th, 10pm-12am

311 South Main Street

Brooklyn, MI

On Tuesday, September 27th, Subway will donate a percentage of their sales to the Columbia Elementary PTO! Be sure to mention the Columbia PTO fundraiser when you place your order. Mrs. O'Neil and Mrs. Powell will help serve from 5-7 pm. The money raised will go toward programs for our students throughout the school year.

Thank you Mrs. Weaver and the Columbia Central Varsity Cheerleading Program

Students in 3rd-6th grade enjoyed the Youth Cheer Clinic on September 17th. On Thursday evening at the Junior Varsity football game, they were able to show their dance and cheer for the Golden Eagles. Thank you to the Varsity Cheer program for their awesome leadership!

PUNT! PASS! AND KICK!

The Lion's Club, in partnership with Mr. Miller's Leadership Class will be hosting the annual Punt, Pass, and Kick Challenge. Registration is at 6:30 pm and the contest will begin at 7 pm on October 3rd. Everyone that participates will be receiving a free t-shirt. The first place boy and girl from each grade level will receive a trophy. Bring water and plenty of energy to participate in this fun-filled event.
