School Routine
Consistency and routine are key in your child's development. Thank you for your continued support in striving for perfect attendance and having your child arrive to school by 8:50 (or 8:40 if they eat breakfast with us).

A Peek Into Our Classroom...
We've completed our Restaurant Unit!
JLC Grocery Store
Next week, we will be ending our restaurant unit and begin transitioning to our new unit! The children will use knowledge of our previous roles and actions, along with our own personal experiences to make connections to our new unit: Grocery Store!
To assist us in our Grocery Store unit, we would appreciate the following donations:

- Clean, empty food containers (cereal boxes, egg cartons, etc.) Please no glass or aluminum.

- 12/19-12/21: Class Gingerbread Project
- 12/21: Please send your child to school with a wrapped book by 12/21 if you wish to have your child participate in the book exchange!
- 12/22: PAJAMA DAY!!! 1:40 early dismissal day before winter break
- 12/23-1/1: NO SCHOOL (Winter break)
- 1/2: Return to School (Happy 2018!)
Hope Worldwide donations
The effects of Hurricane Maria are devastating and still effecting the everyday lives of many families in Puerto Rico. Noah's Ark is teaming up with the Puerto Rican chapter of Hope WW to collect the following donations:

SHILO Feed the Homeless
Noah's Ark is collecting thermals and new socks of all sizes to be donated to the SHILO feed the homeless program. With the sock and thermal donations we hope to keep the homeless extra warm with the upcoming cold weather!

Dental Day
December 18th is Dental Day at Noah's Ark! Please ensure you returned your child's permission slip so s/he can be part of the puppet show and educational lesson regarding dental health. Free dental checks are also available this day with your permission!
Gingerbread Fun
Noah's Ark is holding our second annual Gingerbread house contest during the week of 12/18-12/21. We would love for family members to join us in constructing and decorating our class gingerbread house as well as individual houses! A sign up sheet will be posted closer to the week of 12/18.
Over winter break from 12/22 through 1/1 we ask that all families visit our facebook page and vote for your favorite gingerbread house (Each classroom will have their own gingerbread house picture posted on the Facebook page: @noahsarkofhpfan.

Winter Party and Book Exchange
Each holiday season, the JLC Class has a book exchange. If you would like to participate please send your child to school on 12/21 with a wrapped new or gently used book. Each child that brings a book in will have a chance to choose a wrapped book to read and take home! Please note books must be brought in wrapped by 12/21 and the gift exchange will happen during the morning of Friday, 12/22 (our last day before winter break).
If you do not have any books at home, but would like your child to participate please see me!
PAJAMA DAY!!!! Our last day before winter break (12/22) will be pajama day! Please send your child to school on Friday the 22nd wearing pajamas and sneakers or boots. Please refrain from slippers or footsy pajamas. Thank you!!!

Miss Sammy
Samantha Allen has been part of the Noah's Ark Team since January of 2001. She has her MA in Curriculum and Instruction and a dual BA in Early Childhood & Elementary Education. Miss Sammy is here to work in a collaborative partnership with each family to best support the individual developmental needs of each child!
Miss Lisa
Lisa Solema joined the Noah's Ark Team in 2013.
She has her BA from Rutgers University and has been working in the field since 2012. Miss Lisa brings her love of learning into the classroom and hopes to inspire others to love learning as well!

Miss Lexi
Miss Lexi joined the Noah's Ark family in October of 2017. Miss Lexi graduated with her BA from Montclair University. She has taken on the position of floating teacher assistant, helping both New Brunswick District classrooms throughout the day & works afternoon wrap around daily!
