Terrific Ways to Teach Children
Barbara will introduce simple techniques you can use to make your lessons more effective, and more fun. Whether you are using a coursebook or your own materials, teaching large classes or small, teaching young learners or learners who are young at heart, you'll leave with ideas to use in your own lessons. We'll also look at what we know about the way children learn language to explain why these techniques work. __________________ Barbara Hoskins Sakamoto, co-author of Let’s Go and English For Teachers, earned her secondary English teaching certificate and her TEFL masters degree in the US. She has taught English and ESL in the US, and EFL in Japan for more than 23 years. Barbara's current interests include exploring the potential of new technologies for collaboration and professional development, and she is a Program Director for International Teacher Development Institute (iTDi). She currently lives in Kitakyushu, Japan.
Using m-Learning to Teach English
Have you ever thought about using mobile devices in your classroom, but didn't know how or where to get started? Join this webinar and be ready to use a variety of free educational apps that foster creativity and innovation into your lessons. We will explore some initial steps to use QR codes and create digital stories with handheld devices. _________________ Jennifer Verschoor holds degrees as English University Professor, Bachelor in Educational Management, Public Translator and MA in Virtual Environments. She is a teacher trainer, proud Webhead, President of ARCALL and course facilitator at ESSARP, specialised in technology. Currently she is working as an e-moderator for the British Council, Essarp and UTN. She obtained scholarships to attend WorldCall in 2008, IATEFL in 2012 and is working on her e-book -My first digital journey (http://the-round.com).
Enriching the Language Learning Experience through Poetry and Art
This webinar session will attempt to provide practical ideas and suggestions of how teachers can bring art and poetry into the ELT classroom and motivate and enagage learners to express themselves using L2. Language learning experiences can become far more memorable and significant if we are able to emotionally engage students and by bringing poetry and art into the classroom we can foster this in a very effective manner. _________________ Valéria França has been an ELT professional for over 20 years. Most of her work today involves teacher development as the Head of the TD department at Cultura Inglesa S.A., but she is still as passionate about teaching and the classroom as she was when she started her career (and is glad she never became a dentist).
