Huirangi Primary School 4th May 2021

Kia Ora Koutou, Hello Everyone!

Huirangi School has an extremely outstanding reputation in the education community of Taranaki, and I feel very privileged to introduce myself as the new Principal of this wonderful school. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you over the coming weeks.

To give you a bit of an insight; I am a mother of two very active boys, aged 10 and 13 and a wife to Justin who is a Petrochemical Operator at Ballance Agri-Nutrients in Kapuni. My teaching career spans 18 years, and have taught in various city and rural schools around Taranaki. I have been in Deputy Principal roles for the past 5 years, and have recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Education. I was particularly drawn to Huirangi because of its rural character. I absolutely love everything that rural schools and communities have to offer its tamariki and I am really excited to be a part of it.

Thank you to those of you who came along to the powhiri yesterday morning. The weather certainly turned it on for us!

Have a great week, and I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Ngā mihi nui,

Natalie Looney

Principal
