Principal's Message
Hello, Willow Dale Families,
During the month of October, we typically commemorate a variety of special days/weeks. Despite currently being in a virtual school environment, we would like to recognize and celebrate these important hallmarks. October marks Fire Prevention Month. Classroom teachers will be facilitating fire safety lessons, and fire prevention tips will be included throughout the month in the newsletter.
While addressed throughout the year in our School-Wide Behavior and Supports program, Kindness program, and No Place for Hate projects, Bullying Prevention is celebrated with an awareness every October. This year, our School Counselors have registered Willow Dale for the ADL's Walk Against Hate, which will be virtual. The classroom teachers and counselors will continue to facilitate discussions and plan lessons with an anti-bullying message. Information on how all Willow Dale families can participate in the ADL Walk this week will be discussed in the classrooms. Details are also provided below.
The October Willow Dale Home & School meeting will be held on Monday, October 12, at 6:15 PM. This is a virtual meeting that will be held via Google Meet. The link can be found in this newsletter, on the WD website, and communicated through the WD Home & School Channels. If you do not have a personal Gmail account, you can always use your child's device and email to join the meeting. While a Gmail account is not required, the meeting facilitator will need to admit you to the meeting, which may cause a delay. We look forward to seeing everyone virtually on Monday.
Over the last few weeks, I have had many conversations with families regarding the face to face return to school. An October update will be provided to the Board of School Directors by the Centennial School District Administration on Monday, October 13. Be sure to tune in to the School Board Meeting at 7 PM. The link will be posted on the CSD District homepage.
As always, thank you for your support.
Have a Pawsome week!

Lost & Found
In the spring, the Lost & Found was full to the brim with cold-weather items. Since we did not return to school, we decided to store the items and offer times for parents and students to come in and pick up any missing items. Please see the attached video with pictures of some of the items. If you recognize the items, you can either make an appointment to come in and check out the Lost & Found storage area or when you stop by for library book pick-up, you can check it out. The items will be located outside the main entrance of the building. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 215-441-6093.
Items that are not claimed by the Thanksgiving break will be donated.

Family Trips Scheduled During the School Year
Dear Centennial Families;
The Centennial School District Board of School Directors approved Policy 204.1, Family Trips Scheduled During School Year.
Although the scheduling of family trips during the instructional year is not encouraged, the Centennial School Board recognizes that students may benefit educationally by accompanying their parent(s)/guardian(s) on trips. The revision to the policy will allow the schools to approve up to five (5) days instead of three (3). Any trip beyond five (5) days will need the approval of the Superintendent.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) who are requesting approval for a family trip need to complete and submit the attached form to their building principal at least two (2) weeks before the trip.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Perkins or Mr. Julius.
