2021 School Climate and Connectedness Family Survey
Family Partnership parents/guardians are asked to follow this link to the FAMILY SURVEY to participate during the Feb. 22nd – Mar. 26th survey window. If you have more than one child attending this school, you only need to fill out one survey.
Because Family Partnership is a homeschool program, please answer the survey questions through the perspective of your child's home education or skip the questions that do not apply.

JA Inspire Virtual Career Fair
Junior Achievement of Alaska has an opportunity for middle and high school students to attend the JA Inspire Virtual Career Fair
The first-of-its-kind statewide career fair will allow middle and high school students to explore careers, develop hiring skills, and apply for jobs and internships statewide. March 2 is designed for high school students and March 4 is for middle schoolers.
At this FREE event, students will:
• Connect to potential employers
• Attend webinars and learn valuable soft skills
• Win prizes by participating in a virtual scavenger hunt (iPads, scholarships, etc.!)
• Receive a digital backpack to store handouts

National Honor & National Junior Honor Societies accepting candidacy eligibility forms
Family Partnership Charter School is now accepting candidacy eligibility forms for National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society.
- Students in the 7th-9th grade who are interested in joining FPCS chapter of National Junior Honor Society, with a grade point average of 3.5 and above, should turn in eligibility forms to be considered for membership.
- Students in the 10th-12th grade who are interested in joining FPCS chapter of National Honor Society, with a grade point average of 3.5 and above, should turn in eligibility forms to be considered for membership.
Candidacy eligibility forms are due by March 22nd, 2021 at 3:30 pm. We induct students just once a year so don't delay. If you are interested please visit our National Honor Society or our Junior Honor Society webpage.
The APC needs you!
The APC is driven by our families, who make decisions for our school and guide the Principal in creating policies that are family and homeschool friendly. The APC oversees accountability of academics, legal/risk management, finances, operations/maintenance, and capital budgeting issues of The Family Partnership Charter School. Please consider watching a few APC board meetings (live or recorded).
2021 APC ELECTION TIMELINE
- APPLICATIONS due March 31 –IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR AN APC BOARD SEAT, you must email Jewelene Utic jutic@icloud.com to notify the election committee of your interest and receive an application. Completed applications must be received by March 31st.
- Monday, April 12– candidate information will be posted on school website, via email, and linked to school Facebook page.
- Thursday, April 22 @ 6:00pm– The APC will host a public Zoom meeting for the candidates to introduce themselves and take questions. Below, please find the zoom invite:

Visit Our Schools Month
This year ASD's Visit Our Schools sessions will take place virtually February 22 - March 5.
Community members, businesses and parents are invited to virtually visit any ASD school at the end of February/early March to learn more about the community's public schools. This coordinated effort provides parents and community members an opportunity to learn more about the many educational opportunities available.FPCS Parent Workshops

Homeschooling Gifted Learners by IGNITE teachers Erin and Robin
Our presentation is based on the perspective of our experience as elementary IGNITE teachers. We will discuss characteristics of gifted learners and how students qualify for the IGNITE Program and for the Highly Gifted Program at Rogers Park Elementary School. We will share ideas to consider when selecting curriculum for gifted students. We will also present some curriculum ideas, games to keep students challenged, and a list of gifted resources and websites.

Tips and Tricks to Teach K-6 Spelling
Sue Heinz will explain that understanding the 'sequence of spelling' as it relates to the English language applies to all levels of students, K-6th grade. In addition, being able to recognize developmental stages and types of spelling errors guides successful instruction. Practical suggestions will be shared.

Reader's Theater Workshops
Anna Roys, FPCS Sponsor Teacher, will lead two Reader's Theater Workshops. You can attend with your children so they can participate in the Reader's Theater or by yourself to learn how to lead a reader's theater in your home. Contact Anna (roys_anna@asdk12.org) for more information on Reader's Theater. If you would like to observe or participate, please contact your Sponsor Teacher.
