LeBron James is the NBA's top shoe seller. His shoes earned Nike $340 million, while LeBron James himself earned $44 million. WIthout LeBron James and his shoe sales and endorsement, Nike stock would not be doing as well as it has been.
Adidas has recently announced that it will not bid for a new contract with the NBA when its current contract ends in 2017. This could lead to the possible signing of Nike with the NBA, which would increase Nike's revenue (and in turn its stock) exponentially.

Knowing what I know now, I probably would not have purchased the stock. I would have purchased something that had a better outlook. I haven't lost too much money, but of course I bought it as soon as I started the project, and I have fluctuated and lost about $50.00 (at the time of this typing). I have learned to not act impulsively and to hold onto the stock and to sell when the stock finally gets positive.
