A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
May 8, 2020
Hey Warrior Nation,
Huge THANK YOU to all who sent a kind message to one of our staff members during National Teacher/Staff appreciation week. Please know that your support and encouragement means more that you can imagine. It is my belief that you can not have a great school system without a community that truly supports and cares about its schools. Muskego is a special place because of this exact reason! Thank you for the countless things you do to support every level of the Muskego Norway School System.
I believe that in the most difficult times the true character of a community shines. There have been numerous examples of our Warrior Nation stepping up and demonstrating gratitude, compassion, and support. Support has come from our Police Department and Fire Departments in celebrating our seniors at Cap & Gown pick-up and in the generosity shown through the significant donations of food, clothing, and shelter to our families in need. In countless ways, our entire community continues to prove that we are WARRIORS! Keep it up! WE GOT THIS! WE ARE MUSKEGO STRONG!
One final note, these times are impacting every family in different ways. Please know that you can contact me if you need support in any way. We are here to help.
Take care, stay healthy, and stay MUSKEGO STRONG,

Are you receiving a Scholarship?
Seniors who are receiving any athletic, academic, music, leadership, etc. scholarships from colleges, or scholarships from community organizations, parent's employers, and other donors are encouraged to submit a Scholarship Awards Form found here by Tuesday, May 19th. The scholarship information collected from this form will be included in the commencement program. Please contact your student's school counselor if you have any questions.
Please continue to hold June 13th, 10:30 am as the time for our graduation ceremony.
Information continues to change daily. Just yesterday the Wisconsin Department of Health Services made a powerful recommendation that all in-person graduation ceremonies scheduled for spring and summer be canceled. We continue to monitor the future decisions of the Wisconsin State Supreme Court as well as guidance from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Additionally, we are currently working with our liability insurance provider and legal counsel to explore the best options to honor our graduates while maintaining the safety of our students, families, and community.
We are exploring all options for this important event. Additional information and an update will be provided in next Friday’s bulletin.
As always, we greatly appreciate your patience, support, and understanding as we work through these unique times.
Class of 2020 Speaker Competition
Hey Seniors! Do you have a great message that you would like to share with your classmates at our graduation ceremony? If so, consider joining the Class of 2020 Class Address speaker competition. Any interested student will need to submit a video of their 3-5 minute speech to Mr. Irvine by noon on May 22nd. These video’s will be scored by a panel of MHS staff and the winner will deliver their speech as part of our commencement ceremony. If you have any questions please email Mr. Irvine.
Due to the current Stay at Home Orders per Governor Evers, Senior students who were invited to the senior recognition night will now be recognized in a senior slideshow and receive a certificate for their accomplishments. We have amazing students at MHS and look forward to continuing to celebrate all of the successes and future endeavors!
Warrior Senior Spotlight
MHS School Counselors are continuing to highlight our awesome seniors on Twitter. We want all post-secondary plans to be represented and celebrated! Several emails were sent out to the Class of 2020, but we also encourage you to remind students to sign up for a specific date through the link Warrior Senior Spotlight.
