Message from the principal...
We're almost halfway through October! We're starting to close in on the end of the first trimester, and our middle school students may be receiving progress reports next week from their teachers, so be on the lookout. Keeping the communication open between school and home is how we keep our kids on track and successful as we close in on this first grading period.
Check out our important upcoming dates over the next several weeks at school. We have a lot of fun upcoming events, and we look forward to students and families being able to participate. We hope that your families join us tomorrow for our school wide picnic from 11-2. Bring your own picnic and participate in our clothing swap. We are still in need of volunteers, especially during set up. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up here. We hope to see you all tomorrow.
In partnership,
Jude and Tiffany
For the past 2 weeks, our Dolphins have been celebrating kindness and acceptance, both in their classroom communities, and in the larger Clifford community. Classes listened to the book Be Kind, by Pat Miller. They then wrote out ways that they can be kind.
Be Kind Classroom Activity!
We also had a few members of the GSA read True You, by Gwen Agna and Shelley Rotner, to our 3rd grade classes.

TK-5th Grade Halloween Parade at Clifford!
We will be celebrating our annual Halloween parade on Friday, October 28th at 1:00pm on the blacktop. We are so excited to welcome parents on campus to celebrate and enjoy the parade. The students will walk around the blacktop as a class. TK students will return to their classroom to be dismissed to their caregivers. All other students will return to their classrooms and will be dismissed from school as they normally would. If you must take your student from school, please check them out from the main office and you can meet your child at the office- please do not take your child directly from the parade.
If your child/family does not want or cannot participate by family choice, please let your child's teacher know and an alternative plan can be made.
In order to monitor the safety of our Halloween event, we ask that parents do not wear costumes so that everyone is easily recognizable and our students are kept safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
Clifford School Halloween Costume Guidelines 2022
Students may wear Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 28, 2022. All costumes must adhere to the following conditions:
You must be able to sit, walk, breathe, see and hear!
No masks during class time or at recess. Masks may be worn during the parade only.
You must be able to go to the bathroom independently in your costume.
Costumes cannot promote the use of drugs, alcohol or weapons of any kind. No fake blood or gore.
No pretend “prop” weapons such as water pistols, knives or swords.
Any costume that will disrupt the routine of the day or class, including PE, will not be allowed.
Please remember that this is still a full school day. Students are expected to fully participate in each class throughout the day, including learning in class, playing on the playground and fully moving in PE. We are looking forward to everyone following the guidelines, coming up with creative costumes, and having fun!
Middle School Halloween Dance 10/28 5:00-7:00
We are so excited to have our first middle school dance this year! We will have snacks and a DJ! Tickets will be $5.00 at the door the night of the dance. If you need financial assistance please let Mayra or Mr. Noyes know. A student must have a permission slip to attend. Please fill out this google form to give permission or deny permission for your student to attend our dance! Thank you!
Free Meals For All Students
All RCSD students can benefit from California’s Universal Meals Program which went into effect for the 2022-23 school year. This landmark program offers wholesome breakfast and lunch at no cost for all public school students, regardless of income eligibility. Visit My School Menus here to see view menus, nutrition information, and common allergens. During August fresh local grown watermelon, a student favorite, is offered at lunch.
In addition to the new Universal Meal Program, we are also starting a "Share The Table" program. Please find the flyer here.
