Spring PTO Fundraiser
PTO Needs You!
If we don't have families step up to these roles, we will not be able to provide all of the fun events for children that we have done in the past. Please consider supporting our school with your time. Look for a flyer to sign up in your child's Friday Folder.
Youth Art Month
March is Youth Art Month! To celebrate the fine arts in our public schools, the MPSD is once again collaborating with the Rahr West Art Museum to bring “Youth Art Series” to our community! The exhibition is composed of nearly 1,000 works of art by student artists in elementary, middle, and high school. Artwork of every media can be viewed: painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, collage, fibers, digital media, photography, and animation. Immerse yourself in the creativity and energy of our local youth artists by viewing the exhibit from March 5th through April 2nd. The Rahr-West Art Museum is a City of Manitowoc facility. There is no fee for admission. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Reminder
- Manila Street -- NO PARKING on the south side or middle of the street!
- the east side of 14th Street--Please cross at the crosswalks!
- the north side of Division Street--Please cross at the crosswalks!
Parents should not pull in the parking lot for drop-off or pick-up. This space is for staff and school buses only.
Before School
We also ask that students not cut through the parking lot in the front of the building, but instead cross at the crosswalks. Students cannot be seen cutting through the cars and we don't want a child to get hit.

Reporting Your Child's Absence
State law requires the Manitowoc Public School District to enforce the regular attendance of students. Wisconsin Act 285 defines a “habitual truant” as “a pupil who is absent from school without an acceptable excuse for part or all of five school days during a semester.” Per the state law, students are not allowed more than 10 absences in a school year. Families whose student exceeds the designated number of allowed absences will receive attendance letters in the mail and we will request that you participate in an attendance problem-solving meeting where we will work through each family situation.

Youth Resource Hub
A new resource that just launched this week! Healthiest Manitowoc County (HMC) has partnered with Coolest Coast to bring a youth resource hub to their website. The goal is to have a one-stop shop for caregiving adults (parents, guardians, grandparents, babysitters, godparents, etc.) to support the youth in their lives. This could be from parenting support, finding basic needs, looking for activities to get them involved in, and so on. Take a visit to the website to check out what is on there and suggest an edit if you have an organization you feel is missing!
