Mr. Corso’s Principal’s Message
Positive Raiders: Responsible, Respectful, Hard Working and Kind
This Week’s Positive Message: On Wednesday, I read...Good morning Raiders, this is Mr. Corso. Next Monday we have no school. I am excited, as I am sure you are, for a day off. We have the day off because of a great man and an amazing dream. On BMTV, you watched part of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. In his 1963 speech, King says, “Now is the time to make justice a reality.” His call still remains today. There is more work to be done. On your day off, I hope you think about Dr. King, his dream, and what you can do to make justice and his dream a reality.
Also on Wednesday, we shared a special BMTV video to congratulate our students for the great California Dashboard results. Check it out here... https://youtu.be/HSVPyDCfP9s
Holocaust Survivor visits BMMS: On Friday, Jan. 10 BMMS hosted Holocaust survivor Rose Schindler for an 8th grade assembly. Ch. 5 was here to share her story too. Check out the link below. BMTV plans on creating a video of her speech and having that on our YouTube page later in the year

BMMS Parent University
We have several parent workshops coming in the next few weeks hosted at Black Mountain.
Raising Healthy Teens
January 28, 2020 – Tuesday 6:00-7:00 BMMS Library
On January 28th students will participate in an assembly lead by The YouSchool, a local company committed to helping school cultures realign so that all students have the opportunity to construct meaningful lives for themselves. We've also partnered with them to offer a parent workshop the same night of the Assembly, giving you the opportunity to come and be more equipped in the unique tools parents of teenagers need to guide them well.
In an interactive workshop format, you'll be guided through stories and a common-sense framework to reflect on who your kids are and who they're becoming, and what you can do to align your parenting and the culture of your family to give your kids the best opportunity to grow up healthy and wise. In case you aren't able to attend, we'll be recording the workshop and sharing it later. Please RSVP for this event at the following link: https://forms.gle/dn1GwZzJufBFTpY89
