*****IMPORTANT MESSAGE*****
If a member of your family tests positive or is considered to be a ‘close contact’ please inform the school and keep your child(ren) at home in the first instance and follow the CHP guidelines.
If a member of your household is in quarantine please keep your child(ren) at home for the duration of their stay in quarantine until they are released. The child(ren) must remain at home even if the person in quarantine is testing negative. Once they are released from quarantine then the child(ren) can return to school once their negative test result has been shared.
If anyone from your household is subject to mandatory testing please follow the CHP guidelines and keep all children at home until the person mandated for testing has received a negative result. Once these results have been shared with our school nurse, class teacher and the Senior Leadership Team your child(ren) can return to school
Message from Phil
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
It was a great start to the week and it was incredible to see how staff, parents and students responded to the shift to our distance learning model so efficiently and positively. It was not the end to the term that we were hoping for, but the health and safety of our community is paramount and therefore closing the school as a precautionary measure for deep cleaning was necessary.
Daily temperature checking at home - Reminder
The recording of the daily temperatures for all students attending school will continue to be a priority when we return after the break. Please continue to do this as soon as possible in the morning.
Please can you also continue to be cautious and vigilant about illness, and do not send your child to school if they have any of the symptoms below. Any children who come into school with any potential Covid - 19 symptoms will be sent home (unless attendance has been approved by the school nurse and the SLT).
We do understand that children are suffering from environmental allergies at this time of year but without a doctor’s note and an accompanying negative Covid test result, we cannot allow them to be present in school at this time.
Children's COVID-19 symptoms - Reminder
While children and adults experience similar symptoms of COVID-19, children's symptoms tend to be mild and cold-like. Most children recover within one to two weeks. Possible symptoms can include:
Fever or chills
Nasal congestion or runny nose
Cough
Sore throat
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Headache
Muscle aches or body aches
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
Poor feeding or poor appetite
New loss of taste or smell
Stomach pain
General malaise
If any child displays or reports any of the symptoms above whilst at school, we will ask for them to be collected as soon as possible. Please consider the safety of our community and do not send your child back to school until they have fully recovered. If your child is experiencing any of the symptoms for a prolonged period Covid testing is recommended.
A further reminder that children need to be fever free for 48 hours before returning to school.
Drop off and Pick up - Reminder
We will continue to follow the schedule when we return to school on Monday 12th of April. Just to recap the ‘Drop Off’ and ‘Pick Up’ times and protocol:
And finally…
Have a great holiday everyone, let’s hope the weather continues to be fantastic. Following on from our Assembly today we hope you and your family get plenty of opportunities to get off your devices and find creative ways to play, relax and enjoy spending quality time with friends and family (as always, in a socially responsible way of course). We look forward to seeing everybody back in school on Monday 12th April, we will be following the same schedule. If there are any changes to this plan we will let you know via the ESF App.
Have a fabulous, restful break
Phil
