2021-22 and 2022-23 school calendars
The School Board has officially approved the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school year calendars. The calendars contain no significant changes to traditional breaks including MEA break, Thanksgiving break, winter break and spring break.
Visit the calendars page at moundsviewschools.org/calendars to see the current calendar and the next two school year calendars.
Winter weather reminders
Now that all students have experienced the distance learning model, for the remainder of this school year any future “snow days” will become distance learning days for all students. For more information, including details about the District’s threshold for closing, childcare operations, activities cancellations, notifications and more, visit www.moundsviewschools.org/winterweather.
Updates to District’s equity goals
At the February 9 school board meeting, Superintendent Lennox offered an update on the District’s equity goals as part of the District Operational Plan (DOP). You can watch the recording here. You can expect a more detailed update in our spring issue of School Talk, which will be mailed to homes in mid-March.
Virtual ribbon cuttings
This spring, construction will conclude at the final three schools to undergo improvements: Irondale High School, Sunnyside Elementary School and Valentine Hills Elementary School. The pandemic has complicated plans to host gatherings celebrating the completed spaces. But schools that recently finished their final phase of construction are producing virtual ribbon-cutting ceremonies to share and celebrate their new projects. Here are the first two videos with more to come.
