Combination Learning: How to Support In-Person & Remote Students
Good afternoon everyone,
As you all know we will be returning to school on Monday, October 19th. We will be using a 5 day early dismissal schedule where we will accommodate in-person and remote students. Teaching in-person and fully remote students requires both planning and flexibility by all parties, including teachers, parents, and students. Teachers will need to plan for a blended classroom that consists of remote students and students in person. Lessons will need to be planned so that students at home can learn with the rest of the class without being physically in the class.
To accomplish this task, we will be utilizing a combination of synchronous learning, pre-recorded lessons, and pre-loaded lessons. Teachers will utilize these three methods to ensure that ALL students have access to a quality education. We will continue to use Google Suite as our primary instructional platform to ensure continuity.
Our instructional plan with additional details will be available next week for everyone to view.
I also want to thank you all for your prompt responses in our student intent surveys. Having that data allows us to make informed decisions.
Have a great weekend!
Educationally Yours,
Craig Speechley
