WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY | OCTOBER 10

World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10 every year to raise awareness of mental health issues worldwide and mobilize efforts to support mental health.

At WHS, we work to ensure that many layers of support surround each student. Our goal is that if a student needs help, they can obtain support by choosing several options.

The "Need Emotional Support" option on our webpage allows students to reach out and ask for support privately. Based on the student's initial request, a staff member will reach out to first ensure their safety and well-being and then listen. Often students need someone to listen as they process concerns they are having. Based on the issue, the responding staff member will assist the student in making connections to family members or other supportive WHS faculty who can help.
