Halo Notes
St. Louis Catholic High School | Thurs., Feb. 10, 2022
From the Desk of Our Principal
Already halfway through Q3, the year is flying by. Read below about the academic initiatives we’ve been focusing on over the past few years as an entire Diocese in reading and math. As part of the focus on improvement, 9th and 10th grade students were provided with details about the importance of the benchmark assessments, how to compare results, and the information shared with parents. Incentives will be given to students who show growth and/or on-level scores. Food and jean day incentives work miracles! The bigger lesson is teaching students how to set reasonable goals, and how those goals with solid academic strategies can guide them to success. St. Louis Catholic has a vibrant student life, and the focus of academics can often be hidden. Know that student learning is always at the forefront, even if it doesn’t provide that “red carpet moment” captured for social media. Believe me, observing a calculus class is not for the faint of heart and hard to explain in 100 characters or less! Whether it’s a calculus class or Baking and Pastries, our students are pushed to succeed as we learn to “Honor and Praise God… In All Ways.” For those who enjoy discussing academics, please reach out to continue the conversation.
Go Saints Forever!
