***STUDY HALL REMINDER***

11th and 12th grade students are allowed to leave school during their study hall if it starts or ends their day. 9th and 10th grade students must attend all of their study halls, even if the study hall starts or ends their day. This applies to Block Days as well.

CLUB PHOTO DAY

Club Photo Day for the Yearbook is Tuesday, February 14, all day in the Performing Arts Center. Review the Club Photo Day Schedule, listen for announcements, and report the the PAC at the scheduled time. Wear your club t-shirts!

CONGRATULATIONS BAY PORT WRESTLING TEAM!

Congratulations to the Bay Port Wrestling Team on their Regional Championship this weekend. As a result, they have advanced to the Team Sectionals @ D.C. Everest H.S. on Tuesday February 14th. Wrestling starts at 6:00 pm. This event will be live streamed on Voice of Bay Port if you are not able to attend. Bay Port will wrestle D.C. Everest in the Semifinal dual. The winner will advance to the Sectional Finals to dual with the winner of the Pulaski and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln dual. The winner moves on to the Team State Tournament March 3rd and 4th.


Also congratulations to the 13/14 wrestlers who advanced to this Saturday's Individual Sectionals hosted by Shawano High School. Landon Heim, Alois Schlumpf, Owen Wathke, Payton Garcia, Owen Noel, Nick Schomaker, Jacob Ward, Colton Zipp, Carter Kallies, Ayden Bruckner, Ethan Farley, Alex Warden and Vaughn Campbell all advanced. Wrestling starts at 10am on Saturday if attending. Go Pirates!

ACT PREP CLASSES

Top-scoring seniors are hosting weekly sessions to prepare for the ACT for Juniors!

These sessions will be after school in Room B113 on Tuesdays until 4:00 PM. Please fill out this interest form if you are interested or plan to attend at least one session.

Bay Port High School is offering an ACT Prep Class for Juniors!

The class will consist of a practice test on Saturday, February 25th from 7:45-11:45 a.m. in the FORUM ROOM which will be followed up with sessions on the following Monday through Thursday, Feb. 27 - Mar. 2 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. These sessions will focus on the four different subject areas of the ACT; Math, Science, Language and Reading.

If your child is involved in athletics, then you are automatically a part of the Booster Club!

We are looking for new members and new ideas!


WINTER SPORTS MEETING FOLLOW-UP

Please do not forget to volunteer at the concession stand this winter using the Sign-Up Genius Link. Varsity parents work the JV game and JV parents work the Varsity game. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. We look forward to another successful winter athletic season.


Our website is in the process of being updated.


We are also looking for adult representatives from each team. This individual or individuals will act as a liaison for the Booster Club and inform the coaches of any important information that may need to be relayed to each team. Commitment is one night a month.

THE GIVING TREE

The Giving Tree is excited to announce that we have been selected as one of the 45 local nonprofits that will benefit from Give BIG Green Bay 2023!


From noon to noon on February 21 and 22, donations to The Giving Tree will be accepted. Over the past five years, Give BIG Green Bay has raised $8 million for local nonprofits. In 2022 alone, nearly $2.5 million was gifted to 45 nonprofit organizations. The Giving Tree is thrilled to have been selected to build upon this community-wide success.


Your donations to The Giving Tree through Give BIG Green Bay will support the families in our community who utilize this service, specifically through pantry dates, the Back-to-School event, and the Holiday Store. Know that your gift improves the lives of our students, in turn benefitting the future of our community.

NEW Donate Life Walk

This year, with help from the NEW Donate Life Student Leadership Committee, we will be hosting our 11th annual NorthEast Wisconsin Donate Life Walk. This is a 2.5 fun run/walk to help raise money for the Donate Life Wisconsin organization. April 1st is the walk and we are asking for your help. Here are some ways that you might consider:

Eve Wozniak's husband Brent is also an organ recipient and current BP student Lauren Wolfe is an organ recipient.

SUAMICO ELEMENTARY NEEDS YOUR HELP

Do you have clothes that no longer fit your student? Please consider dropping off, at Suamico Elementary, boys clothes (specifically pants, underwear, sweatshirts, and socks) in sizes 5/6 and 7/8. They use these items for kids who forget items at home or have accidents at school. Contact the office at 920-662-9800 if you have any questions. Your donations are greatly appreciated!!

ANNOUNCING A NEW PARTNERSHIP!!

We are excited to announce a new partnership between HSSD and Rawhide Youth Services. Rawhide will be providing School-Based Mental Health services at Bay Port High School starting November 2022. Bay Port will serve as a clinic site one day each week, hopefully eliminating barriers for families and students to access mental health care.


If you are interested, there are two ways to get started.

  1. Contact Bay Port School Social Worker, Rachel Miller, at rachmill@hssdschools.org or 1-920-662-7216 to receive paperwork and talk through the details.

  2. Contact Rawhide Youth Services directly at 1-877-300-9101 and begin the process.

HEALTHROOM BULLETIN

There are no longer academic accommodations for Covid absences. Students will no longer be given the option to ZOOM into classes. It will be the student’s responsibility to connect with their teachers to get any assignments they have missed while out sick, most class work is listed in Schology.


To have your absence medically excused, the Attendance Office must have the following:

1. Medical note from provider stating what dates are excused

2. For COVID absences to be medically excused we need: copy of positive PCR test or a medical note from provider documenting days that are excused.

Smart Pass: STUDENTS - Please end your smart pass when you get to where you are going. If you are expecting a future pass from attendance or student services please accept the pass.


Students are no longer allowed to have food delivered to the school: Sorry for any inconvenience and please plan accordingly.


Bay Port does not have an Open Campus: Which means if you have a study hall before or after your lunch period you must report to both.


Student parking
is available in spots marked with white lines only. This includes the athletic lot and the parking lot behind the district office building. Thanks for your help with parking in the correct spots.


Study Hall Reminder: Students need to sign in to their study hall. All students are marked absent each morning for study hall until they sign in.
